KWARA State Government has again been commended for sustaining quality healthcare delivery with the continuous provision of Critical Medical Equipment (CME) that will not only contribute significant improvement in quality healthcare services but also position Kwara State as a pacesetter in the provision of sound and quality healthcare services in Nigeria.
The Chief Medical Director, Kwara State Teaching Hospital, Dr Bola Ahmed, said this yesterday in Ilorin during the presentation of CME to Dr. Amuda Aluko Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital by the State government.
According to him, “The supply of a comprehensive suite of medical equipment to the KWASUTH is another landmark achievement of the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in its efforts to enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality healthcare services to Kwarans and its environs”.
Besides, Dr Bola revealed that, by investing in the CME the State Government has demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and patient outcomes.
He noted that the equipment will support various medical specialties, including surgery, anesthesia, and emergency medicine.
In her remarks, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Ogunlaja Idowu appreciated the state government’s gestures and its constant support and dedication to providing adequate and affordable healthcare for Kwarans, while reiterating the commitment of the management in ensuring that the equipment is well protected and use to add value to the health care services in the state.
Among the equipment presented were: Surgical and Diagnostic Equipment, C-ARM Machine (10kw) which is a high-powered imaging system for precise surgical guidance, Operating Table which is a state-of-the-art table designed for optimal patient care during surgeries, Diathermy Machine, is an electrosurgical unit for precise tissue cutting and coagulation. Others are: Anesthesia and Respiratory Care, Anesthesia Machine which is also used to administer anesthesia during surgical procedures, Ventilator, and others.
The presentation was witnessed by the Hospital Secretary, Mr Aliyu Yusuf, Head of Nursing Department, Mrs Yusuf Nimota and other top management staff of the hospital.
