MINILS DG Canvasses Synergy with SON
THE Director General of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, Issa Aremu has canvassed a synergy between the Institute and Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for mutual benefits.
Aremu said in his opening remarks delivered on the occasion of the investiture ceremony for the award of fellow of the National Labor Institute (fnli) on the DG/CE of SON and a two-day workshop on “Strategic Leadership and Effective Labour Management Relations” for Management and Union Officials of SON at SON Conference Hall, Ogba Lagos, today Tuesday, 2nd September, 2025.
The Director-General maintained that Management required unions as change agents for continuous improvements in the workplace just as he added that unions would be in need of the Management for improved atmosphere for productivity and motivation.
He reiterated the need to appreciate the achievements of SON Director-General, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke FCA, ACTI who he described as a labour-friendly DG. “This is a testament of the drive of SON for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eight point Reforms Agenda”, he said.
Aremu, who noted that the institute has enjoyed increased patronage of her training programmes by SON under the leadership of Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, disclosed that MINILS would continue to confer Fellow of the National Labour Institute of (fnli) on deserving individuals who significantly contribute to achieving the ILO’s Decent Work .
