ALLEGED FRAUD OVER BARRY JHAY SHOW IN OFFA:MOSES BABATUNDE ALONGO ON THE RUN

AN Actor and a Content Creator, Samson Aina who resides in Ikorodu, Lagos State Nigeria is seeking the assistance of members of the public to track down one Moses Babatunde Alongo said to have duped him to the tune of N4.5Million over a deal aimed at facilitating Barry Jhay to perform in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara state, Nigeria some few weeks ago.

Barry Jhay, whose full name is Oluwakayode Junior Balogun, is a Nigerian Afrobeats musician known for his cultural music style, which blends traditional African rhythms with contemporary Afrobeat.

He is said to be the son of the late Fuji music legend Ayinde Barrister and has won awards like Best New Actor at the City People Music Awards and Rookie of the Year at The Headies. His breakout single is “Aiye,” and his debut album is “Barry Back”.

Narrating his ordeal, Aina said one MC Bachee had approached him some weeks back for a likelihood of sealing a deal with the Lagos Nigeria based Jhay for a live performance in Offa.

According to Aina, “I had to speak with Alongo who promised to get in touch with the Manager of the musician on the proposed show. We agreed to a sum of N6 million Naira to bring down Jhay to Offa for the program. But at the end we added N1 million, being the cost of the logistics.

“We sent N3 million at first and additional N1 million for the logistics. This prompted a small video clip as a promo from Jhay signifying his intention to be in Offa and to prepare his fans for the event. The clip has on it ‘i will be live in Offa. The musician promised the release of the full video after the payment of the balance fee.”

He disclosed that on October 3rd this year he had to pay the balance of N3 million into the Wema Bank Account of one Opeyemi Mudashiru Adekunle of Ode-Remo, Ogun state Nigeria on the instruction of Alongo.

But to Aina’s surprised, he got a WhatsApp message from Alongo few days after of his alleged involvement in a motor accident. Besides, he said he suspected the Mudashiru’s account as a fictitious one.

“At this junction, the Manager of Jhay said without the acknowledgement of the receipt of the balance, that the show would be cancelled. But M.C Bachee had to pay again, a sum of N4.5 million making a total of N11.5 million before Barry Jhay could perform in Offa. I didn’t know that all the while, Alongo was not delivering the money meant for the musician to him,” said Aina.

“At present especially after the show in Offa M.C Bachee is demanding the sum of N4.5 million from me. I met Alongo at Sapade, in Ode-Remo, Ogun state. All efforts put at tracking him down had been futile,” added Aina.

Narrating his ordeal, Aina, who resides in Ikorodu, Lagos Nigeria but a native of Oro-Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara state Nigeria said based on M.C Bachee’s report of the case at Railway Police Post, Challenge in Ilorin, he was invited and detained for interrogations on the matter.

But he had since been released on one condition to bring to the station, Alongo within the next 14 days effective from November, 26, 2025, to avoid an arrest and likely prosecution.

Aina is therefore appealing to members of the public to assist him in producing Alongo to get himself off the likely criminal hook.
